PLEASE HELP PUT NAMES TO
THESE UNIDENTIFIED PHOTOS
of Swedish Finns in Washington State
The following 125+ photos are in need of identification. Most are Swede Finns who lived in Washington State, mainly in Rochester/Independence, between about 1880 to 1950. Some lived in Michigan prior to that. Many may be kin to Terjärv-born Forsbackas/Forstroms, Emets, Sunabackas, Linds, Steeles (Stills, Steels), Nygards, Fagernases, Mattsons, Gistos, Nelsons, Skyttes, etc., who lived in that area. Some are probably relatives in NYC or Finland, and others may just be friends whose photos were in family albums.
I did not scan all these photos myself, so some are blurry and I don't know if that is because they were badly scanned or if the originals were also burry. I cropped out everything else in most photos so that the faces could be enlarged for identification. I don't have the originals for these photos, but I am happy to send you a .jpg of the full photo if you find a relative in there and want the image.
Please get together with one of your senior family members or someone who has all the family photos, and see if you can help identify these people.
